PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL NEW APPOINTMENTS WITH OUR OPHTHALMOLOGISTS ARE BY REFERRAL ONLY.
YOU CAN ASK YOUR FAMILY PHYSICIAN OR AN OPTOMETRIST TO REFER YOU.
New and follow up appointments take 1-3 hours.
Please bring a list of your medications with you as well as any eye drops you are taking.
Please plan on arranging an interpreter if you do not speak English.
During the appointment you might have your pupils dilated so driving is not recommended as it will blur your vision for 4-6 hours.
Your first appointment will take at least an hour and often up to 3 hours so please plan your day accordingly. Follow up appointments can also vary from 1-3 hours. There are many steps involved in seeing the physician including checking in, being screened by a technician, having your eyes dilated which can take 45 minutes and undergoing preliminary diagnostic testing which can take up to an hour.
Our surgeons are teaching fellows, residents and medical students as well as take emergency calls from their affiliated hospitals. Although we make all efforts to be on time, due to the complexity of the conditions seen in our office, we can sometimes run behind. We thank you for your understanding.
